We would like to hear your comments of what you would like to see for this fall’s game. Throughout the coming months, during our Assessment of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, we will be providing our own wish & keep list for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. However we would like to hear your ideas and thoughts for things such as gameplay, courses, sponsors, and anything else you would love to see in EA Sport’s next installment.

- More courses
- More (read: better) apparel to buy in the Pro Shop
- Elimination of lag online
- Analog stick not quite so touchy on lower difficulty levels.
That’s just off the top of my head.
My quick list would be
- Bringing back sponsorships to earn throughout your career
- A much more vast selection of items in the pro shops
- An Augusta license, and also more major courses such as Torrey Pines
- Addition of newer younger pros like Zach Johnson, Sean O’Hair, and K.J. Choi

Sergio Garcia should be included in the game as he is one of my favourite players.

I’d like to see the game play more smoothly on the PS3. TW 2008 was frustrating and ultimately unplayable for me because there was so much motion judder. A more diverse pro shop offering and some new courses would be cool.
I would like to be able to save and quit in the middle of a game and continue later from where I left off. The only save game feature in 08 is single player mode only. I would like to save any game against other players and characters, in match play or stroke, and other modes. It’s very frustrating playing a game and if I can’t finish it at the current time, I lose it. Even in Tiger challenge mode, I have to play through the whole game or I lose it. It’s very frustrating and makes no sense.
Hopefully, they add more courses such as Torrey Pines, Bethpage and Hazeltine. It would be fabulous if the could produce the miracle of adding Augusta.

- upgrading equipment to improve player’s abilities
Big problems with both versions – has no one really tested the women in the game? They haven’t changed, and I think slipped under the radar.
Try designing one. Go on, you can delete it after. Try hitting ‘random’ a couple of times. those things aren’t human!
Serious glitches in female design, mostly in the hair/teeth.
Who wears buffont hair? Why is that a style choice? Where are some realistic style choices, please, that don’t put chunks of hair growing out of my face, and can my bangs connect to my head?
I can’t even begin with the teeth and eyebrows!!!
My husband and I almost argues after I made my player this year…. looked like last time. He didn’t understand that no matter what i design, I’m still going to lookstretched out to 6’0″ while playing, so, of course I’m not as heavy. He doesn’t understand graphics enough to understand that little glitch. Please help with that.
Speaking of gameplay, can the female player do soething other than a walking swan dive after every par/birdie? That’s trite, a little demeaning to women, and just uncool. Whoever thought up that one hasn’t had a date in a really long time, and I’m surprised it slid past. Maybe the girl in the topless bar does that trick for a dollar, but, real women on a golf course don’t!
Minor gripe: sometimes the commentator will say “he” instead of “she”. Speaking of, how hard would it be to get the commentator to announce the player’s name? It’s all computer gen, right?
After watching some of the Dubai Desert Classic. I would love to see this course on Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. The course is just beautiful, I would enjoy playing it on this game.
I think Fight Night Round 2 for PS3 had something with their first person game option. Personally, as a professional golfer myself and avid gamer, I would really like to see some immersive first person scenarios. Maybe make it like a “pressure situation” option in tournament play. Where the camera moves fluently like a person when setting up to a shot, joy sticks used to look and pick out spot to hit at or thru. Maybe have some fast response gauges or maybe even just the old school swing meter. I think even with an old school approach like that, being able to set up and actually look down at the ball while making the shot would be awesome. And who knows, maybe people will like that one part o the game enough to request an entire game as such. I think the game looks so great these days that the only way to actually improve on it is to try and make a realist first person approach. Just think….reading a putt on a green, setting up and making the stroke as if u were in your own body on a course….thats the next step.
Round 3, I apologize. Just think more about the idea, more like a fast action rpg/first person/sport game that ties in rpg traits to find out info to make an appropriate shot, like choosing to tee it lower or test the wind with blades of grass…think no hud only tempo, maybe some faint indicator to show you how to work to a better way of swinging and playing the game. Making the controls sensitive enough to actually shank a shot and forgiving enough to keep it in play. I think Skate also had a good way of reinventing a genre with control dynamics…there is a lot to do with a title like this and keeping it confined to one game style is a grave injustice!
All of these issues are from Tiger woods pga tour 08 for the ps3.
1. Best Ball matches: If you tie everyone gets points and a win.
2. Alter shot matches: If you go into sudden death the match will lock up on the person hosting the match if they lose.
3. 3 and 4 man match: The win/lose and points does not come out correctly
4. Money: If you tie a match everyone still gets the money
5. Daily tournament: Whoever name is lower in the Alphabet, they get the win. Also if you play the daily right before 2: 00am eastern time, you score will post on the next tournament. Some low life’s really abuse this.
6. Connecting: Their are still problems connecting into 4 man matches.
7. Turbo Glitch: Poor programing caused turbo glitches on many of the holes. Meaning you can not hold down the turbo on a turbo controller. Hint: Buy a turbo controller and see for yourself.
8. Disconnecting: Losing around 30% of your points if you get disconnecting. This is the biggest BS if have ever heard in a video game.
9. Created room: Sometimes you can set a Password for the room and anyone that knows the password still can not get into the room.
10. Your opponent being able to see your turbo, shape, and %. In Madden are you allowed to see the opponent exact play? No. Is their anyone making these games know how to use some common since?
I WILL SAY IF YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE WAY YOU BETA TEST GAMES, IT IS POINTLESS TO BUY ANY FUTURE PRODUCTS FROM EA.

1. You need more courses. At least 20 but it would be nice for 30 courses. Have were you can download a new course every month.
2. Change the way you beta test games. Let gamers like myself test the games and you would not have so many people mad at how sorry the online play is.
3. Putting needs to go back like Tiger woods pga tour 06. Change were you can only see the line twice instead of unlimited.
4. Bring back logos that gamers can custom make.
5. Bring back were you can create your own swing.

7. Fixing the daily tournament winner. If there is a tie let both have the win on the tournament. This will solve the problem.

Bring a caddie along, so when it shows your player out in the fairway he’s not standing alone, he’s got his clubs and caddy.
Add bags as items to buy
Titleist as a sponser.
When you select a different shaft, you select it for woods, irons, putter. Not just one for all.
Decrease the distance one can hit with the driver, it goes to far, make it more realistic distances. 400+ drives are rare in real life, but not in the game.
As the pressure increases, have your player abilities decrease. There for have confidence as a ability.

TCP Deere Run
Bring back course design.
Crowds grow, as your player moves up world rankings.
Forget fantasy courses, save the space for real courses. Leave the fantasy for other companies versions of golf.

You must be a NOOB playing Tiger woods game if you do not want fantasy courses. Fantasy courses is what MOST GAMERS want on Tiger woods game. Do you realize how much it cost them to get real courses compared to fantasy courses. Probably not…… The more courses the better with fantasy courses. Go to Mrytle Beach, SC and you can get some great courses to put on future TW game. Man of war course and TRUE BLUE COURSE. Google them and check it out.

Byron is right about Augusta, that would be sweet.
The idea of team play games getting more points was good, except for the ties having both teams getting winners points. That’s why the leader board is a JOKE now.
But when I am playing Tiger or JD or Dinkenbach off line, I don’t know what club the hit, what power or spin they use, my online opponit doesn’t need to know what I hit either. IMHO

i think sum good changes to tiger 09 should be more courses from all over the world, should have european and australasian tours aswell as the us tour, also should have mini golf tournaments to test ya putting skills…..all different colour balls etc apart from that i love my golf, also i agree should be able to get a different couse to download every wk
Just a couple of suggestions
– Being able change player nationality
- There is not flow in terms of winning tournaments back to back, I would like to see that the game remembers things like that you won this tournament last year and that you are the defending champion and that if you win tournaments back to back that this is included in the commentry. My issues are mainly with the commentry, its seems to static.
The ability to break golf shafts when forcing big shots in say very long grass or when on a rough area, it makes it realistic and then you are also handy capped by not having that club available.
Sun blindness as this is common on golf courses, you cant get a good clear picture of where you are hitting if the sun is very bright. I know that you can get sun glasses to resolve that issue but it for the people that dont use sun glasses.
Tiredness realism as walking and playing 18 holes of golf is hard work and in the game play the player never seems to tire.
Augusta, Augusta, Augusta.
If EA can buy the NFL license, the NCAA hoops license, and the NASCAR license, why can’t you find a way to work a deal with Augusta? It would give EA a competitive advantage over any golf game out there on the market. If you wanted to play Augusta, you must buy TW09 or whatever.
It would be an incredible move and it could allow everyday people to experience Augusta since we won’t ever get the chance to go the Masters or play the course.
I can’t imagine that Bobby Jones the ulimate amateur would have approved of the snobs and they way they conduct themselves over at Augusta. This would be a win for Augusta’s image and EA at the same time.
I would like Sergio Garcia to be in the games. I would like there to not be any made up players too, because they are just plain bad and annoying to have to play against. I also think there should be some colorful pants in the pro shop that are not bell bottoms. Being able to buy belts would be cool. The best thing would be to have Titleist as a company in the game. Also, Tiger should have the good swing he had in the 04 games because I don’t like the laid off swing he had in 06-08. You should be able to create a course too. All on your own, example: put bunkers where you want them, choose the distance, put water and greens where you want to, and have the course completely yours.
I think the players should be able to have an accent if they are from a certain area.
Bingo-Bango-Bongo= The worst game ever. You can try to go for in 1 with a lot of club and if it’s not going at the green, try to make it go out of bounds so you have another try. You won’t win bongo, but it’s still easy to win Bingo and Bango.

ranking matches its ok but more options for custom matches online than tour or pro. Its not funny to play with a friend on this two hard levels. the option to colorup my photo gameface.
Augusta as cool as that would be, is definitely a long shot. The belt thing would be cool especially because they have become such a big part of the golf wardrobe. The big one for me is the shaft thing. When was the last time you saw a lob wedge with an aldila vs proto in it?
it would be nice to be able to play 2 or more players at the same time in the tournaments, weather conditions like fog, or light rain, but the most thing would be to actually play witout freezing or disconnects, and that crazy points penalty can go to, like 2000+ points for something that was not even your fault, xbox/ea freeze or disconnecting, if i quit, sure penalize me, but not for my partner who i have no control over, or ea/xbox, its not fair, not to mention frustration to loose all those points which take you hrs if not days to build up
-Titleist, and/or Polo as sponsors. They’re already on some of the pro’s in the game, as well as footjoy in the proshop, so why not make some of their stuff availible.
-Courses that were in former versions: Torrey Pines, Bethpage, Bay Hill. Or at least halfway through the season a course add on disc/downloads from xbox live. Possible courses not in previous games should include Valhalla, Hazeltine, Cypress Pointe, Medinah, Congressional….
-Golfers- KJ Choi, Zach Johnson, Sergio, Chad Campbell.
-The Ability to add downloaded courses into a season.
Fantasy courses are a must.
A Ryder Cup Style competition would be fab as well – imagine that on line with 12 peopl on each team, on the actual courses (Valhalla, K Club, Celtic Manor in 2010).
Also caddies – would be great to see player conversing with caddy or at least have them animated next to them selecting clubs.
1. In tournaments there should be a small screen in the top-left corner of the screen that shows the other leaders hitting shots and putting. If you’re standing on the 17th tee box at Pebble in a tournament, they should go TV-camera style to the leader putting on the green while you wait. They should show bigger crowds, your caddy and you walking up to the tee box and surveying the shot. 2. They should have a stinger shot too.
3. Fantasy courses. A MUST.
i want to see the real names of the tournaments instead of; saint patricks day tournament, and christmas tournament. the redstone course from the shell houston open would be nice too
Each yers courses should include every course that tournaments are being played on throughout the year. How about a Euro-version? Definitely need to make Augusta National a regular course! I would pay for a service that would provide courses for download again. I want every course in the world pls. It is also time for McCord and Fairty to make some new sound bites.

What is so wrong with playing a virtual version of Augusta? You mean to tell me that those arrogant members at Augusta think a video game would tarnish the “mystic” of Augusta?
No one gives a crap about Augusta mystic anymore. It is a dead horse and people are tired of their arrogance on a golf course that was built by Bobby Jones, and amateur.
Phil Mickelson, Old Players back such as Arnie, and the Golden Bear, I’m suprised Michelle Wie hasn’t been in a fucking game yet. I hate her anywheres. If they could make a celebration were u can slam a club in her face, that would be grand.
More courses…. Bring back all the old fantasy course like the Highlands, Emerald Dragon, etc.
Having every major event, and actuaally have it say the u.s. open, masters, and when u win u get the trophies. Presentations for winning…
And last but not least, perhaps put Happy Gilmore in the game….. lol, that would be fun
The abillity to play a PGA tour season with a Pro golfer such as John Daly, you can do this on the PC but not on the other consols. And i want more LPGA content!

As much as I would love to see it, Augusta National will never be in a Tiger Woods game. In reality Augusta is one of the most discrete courses in the world. So much so that I have heard of pilots being intensely interviewed and even arrested upon landing just for flying to close to the holy ground. Augusta is so discrete that it is only open for several months out of the year, it is also an all mens club. With all of this top secret discreteness going on do you really think they are just going to release the rights to EA so the regular average joe can play the course? Probably not! Perhaps a better alternative, if the rights were somehow miraculously bought would be for EA to sell a separate MASTERS addition of the game, which would include Augusta and the masters tournament which could cost around $100 instead of the normal $60. This could help play for the rights perhaps. Or another alternative for EA would be to create a fantasy course somewhat similar to Augusta. Either way I would be highly surprised to see Augusta added to the game!
has anyone else watching the masters this week noticed the virtual course they r using? it looks an awful lot like tiger woods. I have never seen one of these of Augusta National before.

Yeah Aaron, that would be neat if that is a precursor to what could be coming for 09. We are probably a month away from solid details regarding the game, the only thing we know right now is the “tentative” release date of August 26th.
Ryder Cup/Solheim Cup!
I would like to be matched up against a cpu player during every round when I’m playing in a tournament. For that reason alone I won’t buy another TW golf game until they fix it.
Playing in a tournament by yourself is boring, super boring, kick the game away boring.
Create your own courses would be sweet! especially if the course desiner is not to complicated.
That’s a great idea Tony. If there was a way to make their shots speedier….that would be fun to be paired up with some pros or nobody’s in the first couple rounds, then maybe paired with Tiger in the final round, and throughout the tournament they say little things to you like nice shot, or BS with you.
Definately add new courses, clubs, more sponsors eg. titleist (#1ball in golf), michelle wie!
Things such as presentations when u win events
and have crowds get progressively bigger through each day of the tournament
and if you are winning have more responsive crowds.
The special tiger ‘stinger’ shot would be a fantastic idea

Putting must return to orginal style. When this game first came out in 03′ it was great. When the caddy tips changed the game lost its popularity. Simply put; why change a good thing?

BRING BACK CADDY TIP LIKE IN THE REAL EARLY GAMES
Get a caddy to have him stan next to you in the fairway
Have the Q school so that you have to qualify for the PGA Tour
Have mini tours and the euro tour and the nationwide tour in case you are not good enough yet or the PGA Tour, and just have simlated names for the events
Get more golfers such as Phil Mickelson, and Rocco Mediate, and Zach Johnson etc
Get legendary golfers such as ben hogan, jack nicklaus, arnold palmer, sam snead, etc
Have the create a player not develop so quickle, it wouuld bee more realistic if ur guy doesnt go to 10 to 100 in like 4 days
Courses- Augusta, TPC sawgrass, Oakmont, TPC Boston, Riviera, Torrey Pines, Winged Foot, Pinerhurst, St Andrews, Westchester, east Lake, Cog Hill, Bay Hill, and i no that some people dont want this but fantasy courrses, i mean if you dont want to play them fine, dont have them included in the PGA season. But it is much more fun to sit down with a friend and play a fantasy course, than TPC sawgrass etc.

have mental toughness as an ability so if the pressusre increases, you can still hit the shot

during a round during a tourney, u can sometimes hear roars from other greens, and they can effect how you are playing if the players score that just made the putt or so on effects you
and the last thing which would be impossible to do, but it woudld be pretty cool if they made it so that you could download all of the local courses around you and play them
1. Augusta has to be brought in somehow.
2. No fake players.
3. All past and present greats (Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Nick Faldo and the like)
4. Option to tee off using the direction keys of PS2.
5. More realistic player actions (crouching before putting, covering the eye with his hand, etc.)
6. Option to play sudden death round once 2 or more players are tied after the 18 holes.
…And golf carts/buggies! Giving you the option to drive to the next shot and view the courses better, or just to jump the bunkers!
This game should be fully licensed like FIFA, and made as real as possible. I don’t like the aftertouch, it’s too arcade-y, that’s why I prefer ‘Everybody’s Golf World Tour’ (The PS3′s only ‘killer app’, LOL!).
Can you cancel spin in ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010′, or any of these games?
I usually just leave the ball to land naturally when the slow-mo camera kicks in, because it often means the AI is going get the ball in, or very close, for you. But sometimes I’ve already applied the spin and want to cancel it!
